Useful Tips & Tricks To Help Find Inspiration When You're Suffering From Art Block

Art block can be a frustrating and discouraging experience for any artist. Whether you're a beginner or a seasoned professional, there are times when you simply can't seem to find inspiration or motivation to create. In this video, I'll share some tips and tricks that have helped me overcome art block and find inspiration when I need it most.

Some more of my top tips for finding inspiration include;

  1. Change your perspective: Sometimes, all you need is a change of scenery or a different perspective to spark your creativity. Take a break from your usual routine and try exploring new places or trying new things. Look for inspiration in unexpected places, such as nature, architecture, or even everyday objects.

  2. Take on a challenge: Setting yourself a challenge or a creative brief can help you focus your energy and creativity. Try drawing or painting something you've never attempted before, or challenge yourself to create a series of works in a particular style or theme.

  3. Learn something new: Learning a new technique or medium can be a great way to get out of a creative rut. Take a class or workshop, or try experimenting with a new tool or material.

  4. Collaborate with others: Collaborating with other artists can be a great way to generate new ideas and inspiration. Try working on a project with a friend or joining an art group or community.

  5. Give yourself permission to fail: Fear of failure can be a major obstacle to creativity. Remember that making mistakes is part of the creative process, and allow yourself to experiment and take risks without worrying about the outcome.

These tips and the others in the video have helped me overcome art block time and time again, and I hope they'll be helpful to you as well. Remember, creativity is a journey, and sometimes it's the detours that lead to the most interesting destinations.
