If you're a fan of watercolor painting and are looking for a way to combine it with your floral line art, you'll love this step-by-step tutorial on how to create a stunning floral moon painting. With just a few supplies and a little bit of patience, you can create your own beautiful masterpiece.
Follow along with my easy to follow, step by step video on YouTube-
To begin, start by gathering your supplies. You will need watercolor paper, watercolor paints, brushes, a fine liner pen and a little bit of gold foil is optional.
Next, draw around something or use a compass to create the circular outline of the moon.
Once you have your outline, it's time to start painting! Begin by painting the background with a light wash of your chosen colour or add a wash of water and drop some colour into it.
Once your watercolour has dried you can draw your chosen flowers and foliage over the top. You can use a reference photo or create your own design. I love to draw flowers with longer flowing stems on top of my watercolour moons.
I love to add some touches of gold foil or metallic watercolour paint to these pieces at this stage, just to finish everything off and add a touch of sparkle.
Don't be afraid to experiment with different colors and techniques. Watercolor painting is all about playing and letting the colors blend and flow together.
And voila! You now have a beautiful watercolor floral moon painting.
