How I Draw Symmetrical Snowflakes Using Procreate - Video Tutorial

As the winter season approaches, it's a great time to start thinking about creating some festive illustrations. One of my favourite things to draw during this time of year are snowflakes. They’re so fun and with the help of the symmetry tool in procreate, just a few strokes can turn into a magical snowflake! In this step by step video tutorial, I'll show you my techniques for drawing symmetrical snowflakes using Procreate.

The key tool to make this happen is the "Symmetry" tool, specifically the "Radial" option. This allows me to draw one section of the snowflake and have it automatically duplicated in a circular pattern. You can access this by heading to the Canvas menu, turning on the Drawing Guide and pressing the Edit Drawing Guide option underneath the toggle. Within this edit feature, select Symmetry at the bottom then options, which is where you’ll find the radial option. Press done in the top right corner and make sure your current drawing layer has the Drawing Assist option selected.

Drawing symmetrical snowflakes in Procreate is a fun and easy way to create festive illustrations for the winter season. Try out different colours and patterns to make each snowflake unique.
